Also, try to return the car to the same location. If you don’t notify this change in advance with at least 24 hours, it may result in an additional charge of 1 €/km for locations outside Bucharest and 50€ for locations in Bucharest and nearby Henri Coanda Airport.

Choose the right insurance plan for your rental car

When you decide to rent a car, it is also important to choose a type of insurance to protect you in case of damage. At Premium Rent, you can opt for `Super Relax Cover` that can be purchased before picking up your car or at the rental desk. With this type of insurance, you get ZERO liability in case of damage. If you choose to purchase the full insurance, not only you will feel more relaxed during your holiday, but this can save you from various payments if you have any unpleasant events on the route. What is the conclusion? Invest in a good insurance because it takes care of any unplanned costs.

Return the vehicle in the same condition you rented it

An important fact that can influence the final cost of renting is the appearance of the car. Should the vehicle require a detailing procedure due to the excessive dirt, you may need to pay a tax of 50€. You can avoid this charge if you are careful about the cleanness, both inside and outside the vehicle, throughout the rental period.

Surveying the vehicle

No matter what time you collect the vehicle, always take the time to thoroughly survey the vehicle. Make sure the representative of the company records any pre-existing damage. Check before completing the survey that your photos have come out clearly and you can see the extent of the damage. Use the flash function if necessary.

This may be obvious but we all fall into the trap sometimes- if you’re departing from a multi-storey car park in the dark, make sure you switch your lights on!

Fuel Policy Tips

Car rental fuel tips Bucuresti

Fuel policy can be today a common issue for many low cost car rental companies. Although appearing as low rental rates, certain providers practice a hidden upfront fuel payments. Premium Rent operate and offer fair fuel policies guiding clients to choose the best option for their needs. The most common policies are Full to Full or Same to Same.

Full to Full

What does mean? Your rented vehicle will be supplied with a full thank of fuel and you’ll need to return it full of fuel. Some providers may require to present a refueling receipt on date and time of return, and must be from the nearest gas station near the airport (if not providing the refueling receipt, definitely will be an extra charge). Many customers prefer this method as it’s simple and straightforward. Other companies will require a fuel deposit at time of pick-up to cover the cost of the tank of fuel supplying you with. This Deposit will be refunded in full if you return the car with a fuel of tank. Be careful also some provider charge a non-refundable administration charge for providing a full tank of fuel. When you return the vehicle without a full tank, you’ll be charged for the cost of missing fuel. Refueling Fee, will also be charged to cover the company time refilling the car plus the missing fuel, most cases, at a higher pump price. Premium Rent charge for missing fuel pump price +  40 euros Refueling Fee.

Please note: at time of pick-up ask the agent where’s closest gas station point and refuel just before returning the car.

Same to Same

At the time of pick-up the agent will mark on pick-up/drop-off agreement the level of fuel and you’ll be asked to sign. Check that this record matches the fuel gauge before you drive because you’ll be required to return the vehicle hire with same level of fuel. Even if it’s a difficult policy you’ll get no refund if you return the car with more fuel then the time of pick-up. Make photo with the fuel tank on collection and again on return if the fuel policy come into question.

Full to Empty

A fuel policy that can mean trouble. You’ll have to pay for a full tank of fuel  on collection of the car. This fuel is then yours to use which might sound fair, until you return the car. You’re expected to return the car with an empty tank. Many people found that they were ultimately paying for fuel they weren’t using. No refunds are given for any fuel returned with the vehicle. Hirers were paying the inflated rate for fuel set by the supplier and then giving unused fuel back to them.

Please Note: If hiring a car with this policy, ensure you can travel enough to be able to return the vehicle with an empty tank, or as close to as possible, to avoid losing money! Or you can use Premium Rent Prepaid Fuel Policy and we will refund for the unused fuel tank.
Consider how much travelling you’ll be doing, the vehicle category you require, and how easy it will be for you to re-fuel. All these factors can help you decide which fuel policy is the best for you.

Understanding Your Rental

Today we will talk about what you need to know and how you need to understand your booking!

  1. If you’re booking online, give two minutes and read the terms and conditions carefully before confirming your reservation. If you’re booking over the phone, ask the agent about fees and restrictions. Be sure you understand the conditions of your reservation.
  2. If you book online ask about the No-Shows policy, how long will the car be held if you’re stuck in traffic on the way to pick up station or if your flight haves a delay.
  3. Make sure you provide your flight number to the car rental company, specifically in the high season and national holydays to avoid situations in which you get to the rental desk and the car that you reserved is no longer available. Usually car rental companies do not block the car more than an hour if a flight number was not provided.
  4. Always get a confirmation number and scheduled arrival time. This will usually protect your reservation if the flight is delayed.
  5. Unless you know exactly how many days you need the car is recommended to always rent the car for a minimum number of days allowed and ask if you can extend. Ask with how long before you must inform the company and how much it will cost. For termination of the lease before the term of the customer’s desire, companies do not return the rental days left. Of course, returning the car late could cost you too. Many car rental companies only give you a 59 minutes grace period before beginning to rack up the late fees.
  6. Be sure that the check-in attendant inspects the car’s body in your presence and that you agree about any damage.

Examine your rental agreement carefully and choose Premium car rental for your holidays in Romania!

Is the first time when you rent a car? What you should know about it!

Masina de inchiriat Otopeni 3

Renting a car means making a series of choices that are tricky by design and also pricey too. First of all you need to understand the rules of car rental and how those rules are changing. You need to consider this all that before you get behind the rented wheel.

Choose what suits for you best! Compare costs, insurance and what them are covering, what is the value of Excess and do you need to let a deposit? Make sure about all extra “hidden fees” like Airport Fees, out of hours and during the winter season, winter tires fee. Sometimes even for refueling or missing fuel you will be charged, there will be traps and to avoid all those you may decide to pay in advance a prepay Fuel. Simple like that and you will return with an empty tank.

What company should you choose for? A famous one or local!?

On the market are many brands that aren’t “household names”, they’re good companies, and valued that have same cars at every different price point. Is not necessarily to rent a car because of the name or that they have office in terminal. Lots of people may flying into your destination, they are also looking to rent a car at the airport, meaning longer waits and more opportunities for things to go wrong or to pay double the price. Rates car be higher renting from the airport, partly due to tacked-on fees, facility charges and so on and part because that’s just where they need to get you.

So then what should I pick? Desk in terminal or MeEt&GreEt?

In Bucharest Airport all of the company, even those with desk in terminal, have the cars out from the terminal and you will be shuttled to the parking spots. So then? More money for “same company”, same new cars for same rental period?!

What about the car? Do I get the car i reserved?

Sometimes reserving a namely car, doesn’t actually secure you that car. Very often you will receive confirmation with “or Similar”, because pictures are only for information, not guaranteed. Picking a car rental through a travel search engine means looking at mostly identical entries, differentiated solely by price and pick-up location. To avoid not wake up with a similar car and avoid extra payment of local fees call before you click yes to anything, especially on busy holiday, summer or weekends.

Are there geographical or age restrictions?

Restrictions may apply for border across, even for rental contracts that feature unlimited mileage. Some car rental companies do not allow you to take their cars across certain international borders, or may apply an additional charge to do so. Call and ask about it! Ask about extra fees, ask about km. Most important ask about the Deposit held by the car rental company and ensure you have sufficient funds and if there are any age restrictions, additional charges may apply for drivers under 25. If the clerk has too many tips or avoid to talk about it…run away.

Car rental Blog 1

We will try to answer to this question giving you some tips.

Buyers beware, the rates you see advertised in big print may become so inflated depends of the local taxes, airport surcharges, additional driver fees, insurance,  gasoline bills and drop-off charges that you will end up paying more than double what you expected. You need to learn and ask about these extra charges before paying anything.

The advertised rate may be valid only during the off-season or only for a car size that you would find unsuitable. Recently, major booking engines have become more transparent about car rentals and now, usually show the total cost of the rental, including estimated local taxes and fees, early in the booking process.

Unless you reserve immediately, the rate is likely to change
